Dear God

Why are we so egostic? Why can't we all be humble and not let our egos ruin the relationship we share with our loved ones?

Why do we take our close ones for granted? Would it not make them happy if we could tell them occasionally how much we treasure them?

Why are we so absent minded? Why do we ALWAYS forget something or the other? Chores, errands, assignments, keys, expressing feelings..

24 hours in a day is not enough. Time just seems to fly by, leaving behind a lot of unfinished business.

Why are people blind towards another's care? It is so hard to find someone who genuinely cares for you. Why don't teens get this simple fact?

Happiness is a state of mind. Its how YOU choose to be even when things are messed up. Please explain this to the people who make big issues out of their problems?

It feels so good to be happy, its so refreshing!

All animals deserve a home. Or atleast to be taken care of.

Cycling Vs Driving

With the traffic growing and getting worse with each passing day, it has become almost close to impossible to commute during the rush hour and reach your destination on time. Hence, I came up with this list.
(If I was asked to pick between the two, I would blindly choose driving, for numerous reasons!)

1. No worries about crossing the speed limit!

2. You dont need a driving license, so no tenious jobs of running to and fro the RTO; no driving exam so a lot of precious time and money is saved!

3. NO POLLUTION! You are doing your bit to the environment! *GO GREEN!*

4. Traffic police can't give you a ticket or fine you! For ANYTHING!

5. While everyone else is stuck in a big-ass jam, you can easily maneuver through, look back and laugh at the people who are gonna be stuck there for the next couple of minutes.

6. You can easily be excused for not having to drop off people who aren't quite fond of. ;)

7. Cycling is your way to great legs! You can skip the calf muscles work out at your gym, save time and STILL get toned legs.

8. Say no to fuel=save a lot of money=SHOPPING! :D

9. Parking problem? Not a problem any more!

10. Flat tyres are so much more easier to fix.

Birds of a feather

Lesson of the day:

When a person is subjected to a particular thing (like a colour) which they dislike/have a neutral feeling about, they learn to adapt.
(Ah, the sweet lessons you learn in life.)

It is so easy to get influenced (in a good way) when you are surrounded by people who listen to, say, a particular genre of music and you actually adapt to it and can hence bear it, even though you dont like it. (And in the long run, probably learn to like it too as certain things take time to grow onto you.)

So birds of a feather dont always flock together. And that's how MOST of my friends and I dont really think alike (excluding all the girly stuff).
Its the differences in opinion and liking which makes conversation interesting.

The kinda music and colours and other random stuff I've begun to tolerate..

Makes me wonder if any of my friends have picked up my traits.. :/

haha. 15 more days to go!
*yaay*

Football Epidemic

Its no longer a "fever". It's spreading faster than the college gossip and it's taking us all doooownn.

Everyone seems to love the football season. What, with facebook and twitter being flooded with the match updates.

Then there's everyone who's loving the football anthem (wavin' flag) and i'm glad that I ain't the only one who's crazy about that song and singing it like all the time.

It should be made the ANTHEM OF THE WORLD. Or something of that sort. But then we would have too much of it.

Finally, a disease that has put swine flu to shame.

Getting out of the comfort zone...

...has always been a bit of a task for me especially when I have an option to put my priorities on hold and get back to it later.
ARGH.
I just cant get myself to stop! Maybe i shouldn't be given options. Then I would take risks more often.
And the fact that everyone else is nudging me to stick to my comfort zone, not helping..
Yes, I have got to get out of it more frequently.

The Quote

KNOWLEDGE SPEAKS BUT WISDOM LISTENS.

Came across this quote and thought to myself "how true is that?!"

This is for all the people who are constantly reminded about how less they talk at times. (FYI there is always a reason behind the silence.)

Cheers!

The Awesome-est movie ever!!

What a beautiful start to the day! After a long, hot summer the city has ever seen, the monsoon is like a blessing!
Waking up to a cold morning. Ah. So good. Sweatshirts and warm clothes finally get out the closet.
And to make things better, EIGHT BELOW ON T.V!
This must be the zillionth time i'm watching the movie and i shall watch it a hundred times more and still not get bored of it and will still weep when the dogs are left behind, the team loses a dog and, of course, when they are re-united with their master!
Oh, what super dogs! So well trained, so adorable. (having met a siberian husky myself, i've seen how wild they are. Their wolf-instincts are still intact, making it a little hard to train them.)Their unity, team work, sticking together all the time, the way they understand each other...
This movie is the only exception when i dont feel bad for the sea-gulls that get killed.
I would have been even more thrilled if all the dogs had made it out. They are all so incredibly cute!
If only I could meet all those dogs someday.
*sigh*
How much I love this movie.

An eventful day!

Things almost never turn out the way you expect them to. Since last evening, i was super excited about my plans for today. Finally, something eventful to do! Yaay! One of my most favourite cafe (where i hadn't been to in a real long time), catching up with a cousin and hours of endless talks, driving around the city.. PERFECT!
And the best thing?
I GET TO DRIVE!!!
*evil laugh*
After a few minutes of driving, i ended up having a flat tyre. LOL.
I have no idea how i managed to do that. Maybe i'm really good at attracting disasters.
Thankfully, the cousin had a lot of experience in this field and the tyre was fixed in twenty minutes and i learnt how to do it. =)
(And yes, the scene is a bit too exaggerated in movies. Even if you change all the wheels, it isn't gonna consume more than 90 minutes).
Everthing else went smoothly, though. Cafe and everything. Almost scraped the car to a compound wall, in the evening but then, well.. Not like anything happened.
What an interesting tuesday!
The cherry on the cake was the beautiful rain!
Gorgeous!
Oh and that's Bruno who had an interesting day too, exploring the apartment and various new places he was taken along to. Doggies day out. :)

Manipulations

Funny how people decide to walk into your life.
And then talk crap about you.
They think you dont see their other side.
Just because they are being so fake with you.
Like that wasn't enough,
They try to turn your close pals against you.
Manipulation doesn't always work
You will realise that when, someday, you are given a taste of your own medicine.
Life is all about forgiveness
But you dont even know what you're sorry for.
I just dont care anymore,
Makes no difference to me,what-so-ever
But dont expect me to take you back
'cause sometimes,its just too late
Things might never be the same again.

1) Why do Pets have to fall ill so often? Depressing.

2) Go away,Oily skin! Come back next summer and until then, get out of my face!

3) When is the Metro rail gonna be completed? I wanna travel 15kms in 15mins!

4) Bangalore has lots to learn about cleanliness from Mysore.

5) Why do people ALWAYS spell my name wrong while I'm ordering pizzas? I wouldn't mind spelling my name, you know. When in doubt, please ask.

6) What on Earth do you eat, that you hair grows so fricking fast?! I wanna try it too!

7) I am way younger than you so dont expect me to act your age.

8) Whatever happened to the Vanilla Coke? It was pretty nice. And different

9) Since when are people so annoying? Why dont they mind their own business instead of bugging my life?

10) GREEN APPLE! i miss you! I'll pay you a visit some time soon, I promise.

11) How does "leave-in" and "Livon" sound familiar, woman?

Health Camp

I got into this argument with my friend a couple of days back when I told him about this certain health camp which i was supposed to go to. For Hepatitis B Vaccine. He had this whole theory about vaccines being given to suppres our body's natural immunity, etc etc.

Apparantly, the vaccine costs around 2k in a clinic, and just 100 at this camp. So what's the catch? There has to be one! Surely, there isn't so much of goodness left in the world that people hold Health Camps and charge so less for the vaccine, right? So who exactly is it,who is gonna bear this humungus loss of giving away vaccines for throw-away prices?

What if the person injects an air-bubble? Or gives a higher dosage and my immune system cant fight it?

My paranoia is causing me to throw a tantrum and refuse to go to the camp.

*gulp*

HELP!

Why?

Why are we psyched about Aliens invading the Earth, when we have siblings in our houses invading our privacy?
Aliens cannot be as destructive as siblings, perhaps.

Is it Recession time for the hens too? Does that explain the alarmingly small eggs and an almost negligent yolk? Omlettes are supposed to be YELLOW and not WHITE. No more "Eat your eggs sunny side up!"?

In rare cases,Maturity Comes With Age

Strange how the littlest of things that used to upset you a couple of years ago, dont bother you anymore. There was a point of time when we avoided going to formal functions 'cause of the attire we were made to wear. Formals and Ethnic.
Now, its just another attire. Another formality which cannot be avoided, smile away like a retard even if you aren't familiar with any of the guests.
Jeez. Sometimes I feel it would just be better if we were all frozen in time.

SOMETIMES.

At other times, I'm thanking God for making me older than my cousins. And people.

Drools and Walks

Things to be prepared for if your planning on adopting your very first dog (things i wasnt prepared for):

1) Unconditional love: Which you receive and are expected to return too. Even if its 3am and if you've had a long day.

2) Doggie hair all over your clothes: This doesn't hold good if you opt for a short-haired dog which doesn't shed as much hair. Otherwise,it's a goodbye to leaving your clothes lying around. Especially dark colours and sweaters.

3) Puppies take time to understand why they should not confuse your expensive carpets with the bathroom. Patience is the key.

4) Remember the get-away vacation you took last summer? Well this time, you will have to take your dog along too! And believe me,you will have the best vacation ever.

4)a. Leaving your dog behind at a kennel while you holiday isn't a bright idea. He/she needs a vacation too!

5) Dog-proof your house: Make sure all your pump shoes and makeup stuff (and everything that you own and you want to exist) is carefully stacked away in your closet. And under no circumstances leave your closet door opened and unattended to.

5)a. Keep every possible thing out of reach.

6) Bonding time: They demand a lot of attention and care. So make sure you get back home early.

7) Teething dogs chew on anything possible. The things that you cant put away, like furniture, can be coated with Eucalyptus oil. The strong scent will keep him at bay.

7)a. People (like Vets and dog trainers)will suggest various treats and chewys to give to your dog inorder to prevent them from ruining your funiture. This, however, doesn't work. The furniture seems to be more delicious to them.

8) They hate being chained so try and avoid it as much as possible.

9) Dogs sweat too. Regular baths is a compulsion.

10)They never seem to get enough of walks. Good news for you! You have a walking companion!

Whitewash

I'm still trying to figure what exactly will be going on in people's mind when they decide to paint their whole house in a colour that hurts the eye! What, they want their house to be spotted from outer space too? Or do they wanna blind the joggers and their dogs?
Maybe these paints are sold at cheap rates on the market.. As no one in their right mind would go for it.. Who would wanna blind their visitors, anyways?!
Fluorescent yellow??Come on! It sure would look good if every house in the locality decided on theme-painting and settled on BRIGHT colours. Or maybe if just one of the walls were fluorescent. Maybe.
Why dont people just stick to white-washed walls and let go of these super-flashy coloured houses..

NOSTALGIA

Ok so its a rainy afternoon and the weather couldnt get better than this. I'm super impatient to start college and the one month wait is driving me crazy.I thought i would keep myself occupied,to take my mind off waiting for college to start and what better than cleaning out the closet and re-stacking everything?! Closets are one thing that always need your attention. Anyways, this is when i came across things that i had forgotten i had. Like these ancient cards given to me by my then-closefriend,photographs,clothes in which i had played Holi(which must have been lying untouched for atleast 15 long years). I couldnt help but remember people who were a part of my life back then. People behind these beautiful memories. Wonder where they are now. Life seemed so simple back then-go to school(which was a stones throw away from home),wait for mum to bring hot, yummy food when the bell sounded for break and have a picnic lunch in the near-by park. Bliss. Then there was the play time in the evening which usually went upto 9pm. Games that ranged from hopscotch to rollerblading, from hide-and-seek to "the detective squad". LOL. Those days are never gonna come back and neither will i ever have that kind of fun,i know. But i'm so happy i enjoyed every moment of it while it lasted. Where ever you guys are,Thank you so much for these great memories. :)

Chaats And Guitar

As the month of August creeps up on me
I'm flooded with memories from the past two years...
All the unfamiliar faces
And the few weak smiles I got..
I have never been fond of being a new student.

Though I kept to myself,initialy,
And concentrated on nothing
But playing that tune on my guitar,
I began to grow a bit familiar
With all the people around.

The weak smiles turned into friendly "HI!"s,
And with each passing day,
I made new friends.
The awkwardness was slowly put to an end.

Then came a day, when my new friend and I
Decided to go for chaats at a place near-by...
She told me it was the best she had ever had
And I could'nt agree more..

Thus a routine was born
Which the two of us followed for a long time-
Meet up in guitar class and then
Go for chaats in the late evening..

A plate of paani puri
And one masala puri each,
We faithfully still go to him
I shall remember this push-cart chaat vendor for the rest of my life,
For the best chaats in the whole wide world!

A Random Note

1. Not everyone who shows concern for you, are your friends. They might just be people sticking with you for their own selfish reasons.

2. Everyone has a sob story to tell and not everyone has enough patience to listen so save it.

3. The most idiotic question you could ever ask would be "can i ask you something?". Isn't it obvious that the other person wouldn't say "no"?

4. A true friend never asks you to choose between them and your boyfriend/girlfriend. They learn to adapt.

5. It feels real good when,at the end of the day, your friend says "text me when you get home. So that i'm sure you reached safely."

6. Its OK to just smile into blank space for no reason.

7. Sarcasm used on people who dont get it, is sarcasm gone for a waste. Its plain annoying to have a conversation with dumb people. No offence.

8. My patience is super limited at times.

9. Everybody loves to crib and fret but sometimes,it can get a bit too much. Just a little bit.

10. A big bowl of chocolate mousse is a must when your at the peak of your frustration and you feel like you could kill someone.

11. The best thing about a rough patch is the amount of happiness that flows through your system (for a long long time) when you get out of it and you realise you could have given up. But you dint. And you made it!
