Drools and Walks

Things to be prepared for if your planning on adopting your very first dog (things i wasnt prepared for):

1) Unconditional love: Which you receive and are expected to return too. Even if its 3am and if you've had a long day.

2) Doggie hair all over your clothes: This doesn't hold good if you opt for a short-haired dog which doesn't shed as much hair. Otherwise,it's a goodbye to leaving your clothes lying around. Especially dark colours and sweaters.

3) Puppies take time to understand why they should not confuse your expensive carpets with the bathroom. Patience is the key.

4) Remember the get-away vacation you took last summer? Well this time, you will have to take your dog along too! And believe me,you will have the best vacation ever.

4)a. Leaving your dog behind at a kennel while you holiday isn't a bright idea. He/she needs a vacation too!

5) Dog-proof your house: Make sure all your pump shoes and makeup stuff (and everything that you own and you want to exist) is carefully stacked away in your closet. And under no circumstances leave your closet door opened and unattended to.

5)a. Keep every possible thing out of reach.

6) Bonding time: They demand a lot of attention and care. So make sure you get back home early.

7) Teething dogs chew on anything possible. The things that you cant put away, like furniture, can be coated with Eucalyptus oil. The strong scent will keep him at bay.

7)a. People (like Vets and dog trainers)will suggest various treats and chewys to give to your dog inorder to prevent them from ruining your funiture. This, however, doesn't work. The furniture seems to be more delicious to them.

8) They hate being chained so try and avoid it as much as possible.

9) Dogs sweat too. Regular baths is a compulsion.

10)They never seem to get enough of walks. Good news for you! You have a walking companion!

Whitewash

I'm still trying to figure what exactly will be going on in people's mind when they decide to paint their whole house in a colour that hurts the eye! What, they want their house to be spotted from outer space too? Or do they wanna blind the joggers and their dogs?
Maybe these paints are sold at cheap rates on the market.. As no one in their right mind would go for it.. Who would wanna blind their visitors, anyways?!
Fluorescent yellow??Come on! It sure would look good if every house in the locality decided on theme-painting and settled on BRIGHT colours. Or maybe if just one of the walls were fluorescent. Maybe.
Why dont people just stick to white-washed walls and let go of these super-flashy coloured houses..

NOSTALGIA

Ok so its a rainy afternoon and the weather couldnt get better than this. I'm super impatient to start college and the one month wait is driving me crazy.I thought i would keep myself occupied,to take my mind off waiting for college to start and what better than cleaning out the closet and re-stacking everything?! Closets are one thing that always need your attention. Anyways, this is when i came across things that i had forgotten i had. Like these ancient cards given to me by my then-closefriend,photographs,clothes in which i had played Holi(which must have been lying untouched for atleast 15 long years). I couldnt help but remember people who were a part of my life back then. People behind these beautiful memories. Wonder where they are now. Life seemed so simple back then-go to school(which was a stones throw away from home),wait for mum to bring hot, yummy food when the bell sounded for break and have a picnic lunch in the near-by park. Bliss. Then there was the play time in the evening which usually went upto 9pm. Games that ranged from hopscotch to rollerblading, from hide-and-seek to "the detective squad". LOL. Those days are never gonna come back and neither will i ever have that kind of fun,i know. But i'm so happy i enjoyed every moment of it while it lasted. Where ever you guys are,Thank you so much for these great memories. :)

Chaats And Guitar

As the month of August creeps up on me
I'm flooded with memories from the past two years...
All the unfamiliar faces
And the few weak smiles I got..
I have never been fond of being a new student.

Though I kept to myself,initialy,
And concentrated on nothing
But playing that tune on my guitar,
I began to grow a bit familiar
With all the people around.

The weak smiles turned into friendly "HI!"s,
And with each passing day,
I made new friends.
The awkwardness was slowly put to an end.

Then came a day, when my new friend and I
Decided to go for chaats at a place near-by...
She told me it was the best she had ever had
And I could'nt agree more..

Thus a routine was born
Which the two of us followed for a long time-
Meet up in guitar class and then
Go for chaats in the late evening..

A plate of paani puri
And one masala puri each,
We faithfully still go to him
I shall remember this push-cart chaat vendor for the rest of my life,
For the best chaats in the whole wide world!

A Random Note

1. Not everyone who shows concern for you, are your friends. They might just be people sticking with you for their own selfish reasons.

2. Everyone has a sob story to tell and not everyone has enough patience to listen so save it.

3. The most idiotic question you could ever ask would be "can i ask you something?". Isn't it obvious that the other person wouldn't say "no"?

4. A true friend never asks you to choose between them and your boyfriend/girlfriend. They learn to adapt.

5. It feels real good when,at the end of the day, your friend says "text me when you get home. So that i'm sure you reached safely."

6. Its OK to just smile into blank space for no reason.

7. Sarcasm used on people who dont get it, is sarcasm gone for a waste. Its plain annoying to have a conversation with dumb people. No offence.

8. My patience is super limited at times.

9. Everybody loves to crib and fret but sometimes,it can get a bit too much. Just a little bit.

10. A big bowl of chocolate mousse is a must when your at the peak of your frustration and you feel like you could kill someone.

11. The best thing about a rough patch is the amount of happiness that flows through your system (for a long long time) when you get out of it and you realise you could have given up. But you dint. And you made it!
